The Bridge Quartet give here, arguably, the finest account of Grieg's G Minor Quartet since the 1937 Budapest version and certainly the most idiomatic of all modern recordings. This is noble playing admirably recorded.

As a recently formed Charity, the Bridge Quartet Initiative Trust
(Bridge IT) endeavours to finance and develop community and educational
projects, both locally and potentially internationally, with links established
in 2011 with the UK based Kijani Trust after the Bridge Quartet visited Kenya
in February.
At present our 4 trustees are all practising amateur musicians,
either violists or married to one!
The intention is to build on our previous experience working in the
Community. For example, one award-winning project received a grant from the National Foundation for Youth Music community This involved 12 children on the Haverfield
Estate in West London, the home of Lucy Wilding. The children had string
instruments playing sessions and then gave performances alongside the
quartet. One of these raised money for the Red Nose Day which was then
featured on BBC News.
The Bridge String Quartet was also recognised by the London Borough of Hounslow which appointed the Quartet as the first ever Musicians in Residence for the Borough.

The appointment as Musicians in Residence was celebrated in Hounslow's HM Magazine in September 2006. "Some people think that classical music is elitist," said Lucy Wilding (cellist). "It simply isn't. We want to undertake projects in the local community to help bring music to a wider, more inclusive audience"
Our current West 6 residency currently attracts interest from other local performing groups and the Bridge Quartet are happy to provide a ready-made platform, thereby enriching their on-going series.
The Friends of Bridge IT aims to build up a financial cushion of
support for the projects the quartet takes on from time to time.
There are various levels of donation Friend £20, Silver Friend £50
and Gold Friend £100.
