The two quartets are superbly played by this eponymous group, who are right inside the music and present it with an almost improvisational spontaneity.

Friday February 17th 2012, free lunchtime concert at
1pm This is an extra concert in addition to the original program Lunchtime concert of Norman O'Neill chamber music. Norman O'Neill was a contemporary and friend of Delius and Elgar. He lived in Hammersmith! If you heard us perform his piano quintet at Dorchester Abbey last summer for the English Music Festival, then you will know there is some wonderful lyrical music waiting to be unearthed. We will be recording a CD of Norman ONeill's chamber music at Wyastone, Monmouth and this concert is a chance to hear it all. Free entry with a retiring collection. |
