
Between the 3rd and 31st of May 2007, a series of concerts to celebrate 150 Years of Elgar wa held at the magnificent new offices of The Spectator in London. The house at 22 Old Queen Street was the scene for many performances of Elgar's works.
The Series celebrated the 150th anniversary of Elgar who was born in June 1857.
The first concert, on 3 May 2007, marked the exact anniversary of Elgar’s private premieres in 1919. Tickets were strictly limited and, to mark the significance of the events, champagne and canapés were served!
