Visions of Brentford concerts

The Quartet played two concerts at St Paul's Church in Brentford on 29 June 2007 as part of the Visions of Brentford events. The first represented the culmination of some work carried out in local schools over the preceding weeks. The second was aimed at older members of the community and was part of the Cross-generational Arts Festival.

Sponsors - ISIS Waterside Regeneration

The ISIS Waterside Regeneration project kindly sponsored the work in four local schools.

Members of the Quartet visited each of the schools to work with the students to help them gain a better appreciation of classical music.

Each "lesson" involved listening to some recorded music, practising rhythm, listening to instruments live and then doing a painting or drawing to represent the feelings that the music inspired.

The concert at St Paul's Church was the culmination of the work in the schools and students gathered to enjoy the music and participate in the rhythm demonstration.

The concert took place after the schools' concert and was attended by an enthusiastic group of local residents who enjoyed the music. The art exhibition was still in place and people had a chance to enjoy a cup of tea and look at the students' paintings.

There was a lot of interest in the Quartet and their work performances and many looked forward to attending some of the West 4 Sunday Series concerts later in the year.
